Which I also wouldn’t shut up about in my prior review. I repeatedly explained in my last review that this series was perfect for when you’re busy, down, or just need a laugh. “Your defense mechanisms are captivating, as always.”Īaaah this series.

“Sometimes it does,” he replied with a smile, pecking her on the nose. “Yeah, well, love doesn’t always beat out fear.” (If I didn't already have money sunk into the first 2 books, I would not continue with the series.Lex sighed and readied her scythe. I will go ahead and buy book 3, just for closure and to feel like I haven't wasted my money on the first 2. So why are they a dime a dozen and can be taken and used by any reaper? So I will give this audiobook 3 stars. Also, what's the point of being "special" with the rare ability to "damn" if anyone can just easily take it (or copy your power with a touch and then use it themselves?) Which leads me to also wonder.why are scythes so readily available? The reapers have their very own scythe, made just for them. it just got so jangled that it was stupid. The second, with all the jumping and characters, new gifts, new beings, deaths, etc. And honestly, the ending just got stupid.

Has it been an hour, a day, or a whole week? With as much jumping from place to place, it's hard to tell the time. There were several times when I thought I may have zoned out during the audiobook and missed a chunk of book. They're in one place, then another, then another, over and over. I didn't like that there was so much jumping around, literally. It's hard to explain without giving spoilers. What I didn't expect was for there to be no moving forward in the story line. Just like book 1, it's left at a cliff hanger and you must buy book 3 to get any closure. I'm now sitting here, wondering how I really feel about it. Hmm, I'm not really sure how I feel about this book.
